"Koseki Fu-ring" (Sanukite Fu-ring).
Sanukite is the name of the special volcanic rocks, which are produced from the mountain "Goshikidai" in Sanuki district, Kagawa prefecture.
The rocks, which are produced by the volcanic activity about ten million years ago, are used as percussion instruments. Its particularly clear sound is made much of people.
This stone Fu-ring has mystic harmonic overtone and lingering sounds.
It is totally different from the one made of iron.

"Myouchin Fu-ring".
This is an interesting Fu-ring made of two pairs of iron chopsticks for handling live charcoals.
Its sound is very clear. Many artists such as Isao Tomita, Stevie Wonder and so on are fond of its tone. (It is used in testing of the SONY microphones.)

"Edo Fu-ring" (Edo glasses Fu-ring).
Around 1700, the skills of glass manufacturing was introduced into Japan, and then glass Fu-rings appeared after the irons and porcelains.
You can feel the stylish culture of Edo era, which people tried to make new Fu-rings with some rare materials "glasses", in this Fu-ring. It has short and dry lingering sounds which are different from the one made of irons.

"Setomono Fu-ring".
This Fu-ring is made of porcelain. Its sounds have warmth in its cool tones, which are different from the ones made of glasses and irons.

"Tokoname Fu-ring".
This is a traditional handicraft made of Tokonameyaki in Tokoname district in Aichi prefecture.
It is closely related to the earthen bells which are thought to be an origin of Fu-rings, and also has simple and gentle sounds.

"Nanbu Fu-ring".
This is the one of typical Fu-rings in Japan.
Is' a traditional handicraft of Iwate prefecture, made of Nanbu Tekki.
Its clear lingering sound and resonances of ironworks are amazing.
This Fu-ring originated from Doutaku in Jomon-era.
Originally it was used in the religious ritual, and people believed it was a good-luck charm to keep evil spirits away.
